SHAKING THE SIX DEMON BAG: Six Extremely General Questions With Bobby Nash

WHO ARE YOU AND WHAT’S YOUR DEAL?

My name is Bobby Nash. I am a writer who sometimes dabbles as an artist and publisher. Here’s my bio:

From his secret lair in the wilds of Bethlehem, Georgia, Bobby Nash writes. A multitasker, Bobby is certain that he doesn’t suffer from ADD, but instead he... ooh, shiny.

When he finally manages to put fingers to the keyboard, Bobby writes novels (Evil Ways; Fantastix; Deadly Games!), comic books (Fuzzy Bunnies From Hell; Demonslayer; Domino Lady vs. The Mummy; Lance Star: Sky Ranger “One Shot”), short prose (A Fistful of Legends; Full Throttle Space Tales Vol. 2: Space Sirens; Green Hornet Case Files; Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar; Zombies vs. Robots), novellas (Lance Star: Sky Ranger; Ravenwood: Stepson of Mystery, Night Beat), graphic novels (Yin Yang; I Am Googol: The Great Invasion), and even a little pulp fiction (Domino Lady; Secret Agent X; The Avenger) just for good measure.  And despite what his brother says, Bobby swears he is not addicted to buying DVD box sets and can quit anytime he wants to. Really.

When not writing fiction, Bobby attends conventions and writers conferences, promotes his books, teaches writing courses and panels, and is a part-time extra in movies and television. Bobby is also the co-host of the weekly Earth Station One podcast (www.esopodcast.com). He also writes articles for New Pulp (www.newpulpfiction.com) and All Pulp (http://allpulp.blogspot.com) news sites.

For more information on Bobby Nash please visit him at www.bobbynash.com, www.facebook.com/bobbyenash, www.twitter.com/bobbynash, www.lance-star.com, and http://BEN-Books.blogspot.com among other places across the web.

WHAT’S YOUR CURRENT PROJECT?

I’m always working on several things at once. Currently, I’m finishing up a short children’s book story while also working on stories for the upcoming Tales of The Rook and Lance Star: Sky Ranger Vol. 4. On deck I have stories due for The Ruby Files Vol. 2, The Spider, Domino Lady, and The New Adventures of The Eagle. 2012 is already off to a busy start.

WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR INFLUENCES?

Oh, so many and so varied. I’m influenced by any and all creators from comics, books, movies, TV, radio, people I meet walking down the street, you name it. I love sharing that creative energy and it motivates me to create. I could probably list some of those influences, but it would be a long list and I know I’d inadvertently leave someone off of it.

WHERE CAN WE FIND YOUR STUFF?

Almost everything I’ve worked on can be purchased through your favorite retailer, comic shop, or on-line store. There are a few items that are currently out of print and some of the older comic books I worked on are tougher to find, although I do sometimes run across them in discount bins at conventions. If you go to www.bobbynash.com you’ll see links with book covers down each side of the page. Click on them and they’ll lead you to the books.

WHERE CAN WE FIND YOU?

I’m all over the internet so I’m pretty easy to find. My website is at www.bobbynash.com, but you can also find me at www.facebook.com/bobbyenash, www.twitter.com/bobbynash, and https://plus.google.com/u/0/102388421450484575625/about (Google+) on a daily basis. Stop by and say hi.

INDULGE IN SOME SHAMELESS SELF-PROMOTION-WHAT SHOULD WE BE BUYING OR READING OR WATCHING OR LISTENING TO WITH YOUR NAME ON IT?

Everything. Ha! Ha! My latest novel came out in 2011, called Deadly Games! I’m rather proud of that one. You also can’t go wrong with any of the Lance Star: Sky Ranger anthologies or comic books. I’m also very happy with my stories in the Domino Lady: Sex As A Weapon anthology and the Green Hornet Casefiles anthology. Those were fun.

I’m also the co-host of the weekly Earth Station One podcast (www.esopodcast.com) and I occasionally write articles for the New Pulp (www.newpulpfiction.com) and All Pulp (http://allpulp.blogspot.com) news sites.

Thanks for the interview. Good questions.

Bobby
