WHO ARE YOU AND WHAT’S YOUR DEAL?
Good
question. By day, I'm a mild-mannered receptionist, and by night, I'm usually
tearing the world apart or removing folk's hearts. What's my deal? Darkness.
WHAT’S YOUR CURRENT PROJECT?
I'm
currently working on a dystopian fairy tale about orphans and marionettes,
provisionally titled Cobwebs Strings of
the Rotting House.
WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR INFLUENCES?
Tim Burton.
Lemony Snicket.
Perhaps not
influences, but many of my stories contain butterflies, hearts and strange men
in pinstripe suits.
WHERE CAN WE FIND YOUR STUFF?
My books
(Barbed Wire Hearts, Theatre of Curious Acts, and Strange Men in Pinstripe
Suits) are available at Amazon, Barnes & Noble and The Book Depository. My
latest short story was published in Something Wicked, a South African magazine,
and I have a story forthcoming in Dagan Book's Fish anthology.
WHERE CAN WE FIND YOU?
I have a
blog - www.categardner.net. I'm also
far too active on twitter - http://twitter.com/categardner
- that is I never stop tweeting. I think I have a problem. Okay, I know I have
a problem. Tweet me.
INDULGE IN SOME SHAMELESS SELF-PROMOTION-WHAT
SHOULD WE BE BUYING OR READING OR WATCHING OR LISTENING TO WITH YOUR NAME ON
IT?
I have two
novellas available. Theatre of Curious Acts
(Hadley Rille Books), the hero of which, Daniel Cole, is a Great War soldier
who falls in love with Death while battling the Horsewomen of the Apocalypse,
dragons and a sinister theatre manager. Barbed
Wire Hearts (Delirium Books) is the tale of a boy who loses his heart, a
dead girl whose heart has started beating again, and the goatish man who steals
into their town.
Thank you
for the interview, Joshua.
